1 Introductions, apologies and substitutions
1.1 Apologies were received from Joyce Watson AM, Eluned Parrott AM, David Rees AM. Mike Hedges AM substituted for Joyce Watson AM and William Powell substituted for Eluned Parrott AM.
2 Metro for Wales's Capital City Region (09.50-10.50)
2.1 The Committee took evidence from James Brown, representing Powell Dobson Urbanists and Alan Davies, representing Capita.
3 Metro for Wales's Capital City Region (11.00-12.00)
3.1 The Committee scrutinised Edwina Hart AM, Minister for Economy, Science and Transport. The Minister was supported by Mark Barry, Metro Special Adviser, Welsh Government and James Price, Director General, Economy, Science and Transport, Welsh Government.
3.2 The Minister agreed to provide a report on the chronology of events that led to the present position in respect of the Trans-European Transport Network and to update on progress in dealing with the exclusion of Wales from the proposed core network corridors and the Welsh Government’s engagement with the Commission to access funding.
3.3 The Minister also agreed within six months’ time to provide the Committee with the information on the progress made by the Implementation Group, which is tasked with the development of recommendations made in the Report published by the Metro Consortium “A Cardiff Capital Region Metro: impact study”.
